Kelley (John A.) is born in Medford.

Johnny Kelley runs track at Arlington High School and runs his first Boston marathon in 1928. Subsequently known known as Johnny Kelley “The Elder,” he wins the race in 1935 and 1945, places second seven times, and runs in 61 Boston Marathons – the last rat age 84 in 1992. Kelley dies in West Yarmouth on October 6, 2004.
